Edison Analytical Laboratories, Inc.  owns a wide range of major instrumentation as well as some specialized hardware for specific tests.  In addition, we have the capability to design and build certain types of specialized equipment.

Materials flammability testing.

•     Various ignition tests for fabric, sheet materials and solids.

Contact angle analysis.

•     Contact angle using video microscopy.

Water vapor induced polymer swell.       (CWE)

• Measurement of response of polymer films to alternating dry and moist carrier gas.  We also have the capability to determine the influence of methanol on fuel cell components.

Continuous moisture uptake determination.   (CWU)

• Continuous gravimetric determination of water uptake by polymer films.  Fast, accurate determination of equilibrium moisture uptake.

Water Vapor Transmission Rate.  ( WVTR ).

    Measurement of permeation of films by water vapor.  Utilizes MOCON Permatron instrument.

Supercritical Fluid Extraction.   ( SFE ).  

Extraction of solids using carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide modified with organic solvents to remove small molecules and polymer oligomers for further analysis or for beneficiation of  polymers for electronics or pharmaceutical applications.
