Thermal Analysis.

Thermal analysis techniques are used to determine the response of a material or specimen to a change in temperature or the response as a function of time at a temperature

Thermogravimetric analysis.  ( TGA)

  •     Weight loss as function of temperature. RT to 1000 C

Differential Scanning Calorimetry. ( DSC ) (-160 C to 600 C)

  •     Melt and Tg transitions of polymers, DH  of vaporization.
  •     Pressure DSC  (up to 1200 psi)
  •     Photo-DSC  (thermal characterization of photo-cure resins)

Thermo-mechanical analysis.  ( TMA )

  •     Determine CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion),
Glass transitions, penetration.  Film and fiber probe available.

TGA-Mass spectrometry.   ( TG-MS )

  •     Identification of volatiles evolved from materials during TGA
        analysis.
  •     Mass range to 600 amu.  Temperature to 1000 C.
